Margaret M. Ronan, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, in Brookhaven, New York. Born on January 24, 1938, in Ireland, Margaret lived a life marked by grace, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
A woman of deep strength and kindness, Margaret's journey began in her native Ireland, where she was born to her late parents, Terence and Margaret. Her early years laid the foundation for the profound love and commitment she would show throughout her life. She treasured her role within her family and was a pillar of support and warmth to all who knew her.
Margaret's legacy is proudly carried forward by her children: Michael, Kathy, and Katherine; their spouses, including Lisa and John, her sons-in-law; and an extensive and loving family network. Her joy was magnified by her many grandchildren—John, Ashley, Sienad, Amanda, Amy, Katie, Sean, and Mike—who were the light of her life. Although she mourned the loss of one of her daughters, also named Margaret, and her grandchild Andrew, the memories and love they shared remain integral parts of her life story. Furthermore, Margaret delighted in seeing the arrival of her great-grandchild, Harley, who added new happiness and hope to the family’s future.
The family will gather to honor her memory during a visitation on May 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY. Loved ones and friends will have the opportunity to reflect, share stories, and pay their respects in this time of remembrance.
The solemn burial ceremony will take place on May 18, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM at Saint John the Evangelist in New York. This will be a time for final farewells and to celebrate the exceptional life Margaret led, surrounded by those she held dear.
Margaret’s passing is deeply felt by all who had the privilege to know her. Her spirit, kindness, and dedication to her family will remain a lasting beacon of inspiration. As the family navigates this time of loss, they find comfort in the enduring bonds of love that Margaret nurtured through the years.
Margaret M. Ronan will be remembered with respect and affection by her family, friends, and community. Her life was a testament to the power of love, family, and resilience, and she leaves behind a profound legacy woven through the hearts of those she cherished.
