Margarita Acevedo, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, has sadly passed away on December 19th, 2023. Born on June 3rd, 1942, in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico to her loving father Jesus Andino. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Margarita's true pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters; Gladys Acevedo, Maria Acevedo, Francisca Cruz, and Janet Acevedo-Garcia. Margarita's unwavering love and support were instrumental in shaping the strong individuals her daughters became.
In addition to being a remarkable mother, Margarita was also adored by her seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She had a special bond with each of them and took immense pleasure in watching them grow and succeed. Margarita's presence brought warmth and comfort to all family gatherings – her wisdom dispensed with grace and care.
Margarita's career as a seamstress spanned many years and left an indelible mark on the community in Brooklyn, New York. She worked diligently and passionately, using her skills to create beautiful garments that brought joy to those who wore them. Margarita's talent and dedication were evident in every stitch she made, earning her respect as one of the finest seamstresses in Brooklyn.
Margarita had an angelic nature that touched the lives of all who knew her. She possessed an innate kindness that radiated from within, making everyone around her feel loved and valued. Her caring nature knew no bounds as she continuously extended herself for the well-being of others.
A visitation event will be held on Tuesday, December 26th, 2023, at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home located at 1701 Deer Pk Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. Friends, family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing Margarita are welcome to pay their respects between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. A funeral mass will follow immediately after at Ss. Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, 125 Half Hollow Road, Deer Park, NY 11729 at 11:15 AM. A burial will take place at Saint Charles Cemetery, East Farmingdale, NY that same day.
Margarita Acevedo's legacy will continue to live on through the memories she created and the love she shared. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but her spirit will forever guide and inspire them. May she find eternal peace, knowing she made an everlasting impact on the lives she touched.
