Maria M. LaMonica, born on April 16, 1956, passed away on August 10, 2026 at 70 years old, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Throughout her life, Maria was known for her deep love of gardening. She found joy in nurturing the earth, tending to her flowers and plants with care and patience.
Maria’s devotion to her family was unwavering. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael LaMonica, who stood by her side with steadfast love and support. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, encouragement, and boundless affection. Maria’s legacy continues through their daughter, Nicole LaMonica, and their son, Michael LaMonica. Her family remembers her as the cornerstone of strength and comfort, always offering guidance and love in times of need.
She was also the proud grandmother of Sarah, who brought immense joy to her life. Maria treasured every moment with her grandchild, embracing the special bond they shared. Her brother Miguel and sister Nancy survive her as well, each holding close the memories of growing up alongside Maria and the many milestones they shared as a family.
The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate Maria’s remarkable life during visitation hours to be held at Mangano Family Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1701 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729, on Thursday, August 14, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass in honor of Maria will be held at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, 125 Half Hollow Rd., Deer Park, NY 11729, on Friday, August 15, 2026, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Saint Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave, East Farmingdale, NY 11735.
Maria M. LaMonica’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed by her presence. Her love of life, her devotion to her family, and her nurturing soul will forever inspire and sustain the people who loved her most.
