Marie Ann Dunleavy

Marie Ann Dunleavy Suddenly on August 13, 2018 of Riverhead/Calverton. She was born in Manhattan on Oct. 17, 1943, the daughter of Emilio Iannone and Consilia Iannone-Barbato.

She was a registered nurse, having earned a nursing degree at St. John’s Nursing School in Queens. She later earned a master’s degree from NYIT in Old Westbury. She was employed at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Marie married John J. Dunleavy on Oct. 3, 1965 in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.

She was a founding member and captain of the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps, a Suffolk County EMS instructor, an American Heart Association CPR instructor and a Suffolk County Crisis Response Team volunteer. She was a past president of the Riverhead Lions Club and a member of the St. Isidore’s Holy Name Society.

In addition to her husband of nearly 53 years, she is survived by her sons, John C. Dunleavy and Vincent Dunleavy, by her daughter-in-law Elyssa Dunleavy, and by her grandchildren, Emilie and Shane Dunleavy.
