Marie’s heart was dedicated to helping those in need. Her work as a nurse’s aide was marked not only by professionalism but by a deep compassion that touched the lives of countless patients. Alongside her career in healthcare field, she answered a spiritual calling, serving as a chaplain/minister and leading a prayer group at the Restoration Church of God from 1993 onward. Her faith was the foundation of her gentle strength, inspiring many with her unwavering belief and comforting presence.

Marie’s generosity extended beyond her career and church walls. She opened her home and heart to all who sought refuge or friendship, embodying a warm and loving spirit that enveloped everyone around her. Her commitment to aiding the poor in Haiti was a lifelong mission, reflecting her enduring connection to her birthplace and her desire to uplift those less fortunate.

Marie’s life was enriched by a loving family. She was married for 48 beautiful years to her beloved husband, Guy, whose partnership was a source of constant strength and joy. Together, they nurtured a wonderful family: their daughter Stephania (Eric), and sons Christopher (Keeana) and Kempes (Christina), and cherished grandchildren Isaiah, Mikayla, Mia, Kamiyah, and Prince. The bonds she formed with her family were filled with care, devotion, and endless love.

She is remembered with deep affection and respect by all who knew her, carrying forward the legacy of her late parents, Deles and Marietta.

A visitation will be held on June 27, 2026, from 8:30a.m.-12:30p.m., with a prayer service from 9:30a.m.-12:30p.m. at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Pk Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. The burial will commence at 1:00 p.m. the same day at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.

Marie G. Petion’s life was a shining example of compassion, faith, and love—a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of service and family. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit will forever dwell in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
