Mary C. Shelley

Shelley - Mary C, age 97, passed away peacefully on September 12,2026. Born in Brooklyn to Mary and Edward Morris, Mary was the devoted wife to the late Ralph C Shelley. She was the loving mother of Mary Smith (James), Ralph, Kathleen Moir (John), Theresa, Kerri Shelley -Hamler (Steve), Tara Andrews (Wayne) and the late Rita. She was the cherished grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of 9. Mary raised her family in North Babylon and later for over 60 years in Deer Park. She was a generous and selfless person always there to lend a hand to babysit her grandchildren or to help those in need. A long time parishioner of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church, Mary was an active volunteer coaching softball and acting as the Commissioner of girls CYO sports. She served lunches in the school cafeteria, assisted with the church carnival, bingo, the CCD program and the Catholic Ministries Appeal. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren. Services for Mary will be held at the Mangano Funeral Home in Deer Park, Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 6-9pm and Thursday, September 17, from 4-8pm. A funeral mass will be said at St Cyril's for Mary, Friday, September 18, at 11:15am, with burial following at Calverton National Cemetery.
