With profound respect and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Medalit Maritza Alvarez on July 7, 2026. Born on May 20, 1961, Medalit brought grace, dignity, and compassion to all the days of her life.
Medalit will be dearly remembered as a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Oscar. Together, they built a family rooted in love and respect. Medalit’s pride and joy were her children, Gabrielle and Joseph. As a caring mother, she instilled in them values of kindness and integrity, guiding them with gentle advice, steadfast support, and boundless affection. She leaves behind 7 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Throughout her life, Medalit devoted herself to her family, friends, and community. She was quick to offer a comforting word or a helping hand, and her thoughtful demeanor earned her the admiration and gratitude of all who knew her. The memory of her gentle spirit and compassionate heart will be treasured by all she leaves behind.
Family, friends, and all who were touched by Medalit’s kindness are invited to join in remembrance and celebration of her life. A visitation will be held on July 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. A Funeral Mass will take place on July 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal R.C. Church, Wyandanch, NY 11798. Medalit will be laid to rest at Saint Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave, East Farmingdale, NY 11735.

Con profundo respeto y gran tristeza, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Medalit Maritza Álvarez el 7 de julio de 2026. Nacida el 20 de mayo de 1961, Medalit llenó cada día de su vida con gracia, dignidad y compasión.
Medalit será recordada con cariño como una esposa devota de su amado esposo, Óscar. Juntos, construyeron una familia basada en el amor y el respeto. El orgullo y la alegría de Medalit eran sus hijos, Gabrielle y Joseph. Como madre cariñosa, les inculcó valores de bondad e integridad, guiándolos con consejos suaves, apoyo constante y afecto ilimitado. Le sobreviven 7 hermanos y 3 hermanas.
