Nicholas Dubanos, born on March 1, 1961, in Queens, New York, left this world on February 18, 2026, surrounded by the memories of a life rich with love, passion, and cherished moments. He spent his formative years in Deer Park before establishing his forever home in Manorville, where he built a life that exemplified dedication and joy.
Nicholas devoted himself to his career as an Operations Manager for DHL Worldwide Shipping, a role that brought him immense pride and joy. To him, work was not merely a job; it was a second home—a place filled with camaraderie and family-like bonds that nurtured his spirit.
Nicholas had a zest for life that illuminated every room he entered and was grounded in his diverse interests. He held a special fondness for car shows, the thrill of acting, and a deep-seated love for baseball, with the Yankees forever etched in his heart. Music was a constant companion, notably the sweet melodies of The Beatles, which often echoed through his home. His enthusiasm for boxing shone through as he dedicated time to the speed bag and lifting weights.
Proud of his Greek heritage, Nicholas embodied the spirit of a Spartan warrior. He embraced traditions, championing the strength and resilience that came with his background. A devoted father, he treasured the moments spent flying kites with his children, Nicholas, Shannon, and Cindi, sharing laughter and adventure. One of his favorite pastimes was sharing weekends watching race cars, creating lasting memories with his son, and feeling the excitement of the races together.
Those who knew Nicholas will remember him as a loving and humorous man, whose laughter brought warmth to their hearts. He adored the beach, where he found peace and joy, embracing the sound of the waves as a backdrop to his relentless spirit.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. His daughters, Shannon P. Dubanos, who is engaged to Michael Poidomani, and Cindi Dubanos, bask in the light of his unwavering love. His son, Nicholas Dubanos, and his growing family, with a baby grandson on the way, are a testament to his legacy. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim and George Dubanos, who shared in his journey and joy.
Nicholas's visitation will be held at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home on the days of February 21 and 22, 2026, allowing family and friends to come together to honor and celebrate the vibrant life he led.
Though his physical presence may no longer be felt, the laughter, stories, and love he instilled in those around him will echo through the hearts of many. Nicholas Dubanos may have departed from this earth, but he remains eternally present in the cherished memories and love of his family and friends.
