It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Petros Patsalos, a loving father, devoted grandfather, and cherished brother, who left us on May 8, 2025, just weeks before his 88th birthday. Born on August 12, 1937, in Sparta, Greece, Petros carried the essence of his homeland wherever he went. His journey brought him to many new horizons, but the warmth of his heritage remained a constant companion throughout his life.
Petros was the proud father of his son, Nikolaos, and daughter, Maria, who, along with his three beloved grandchildren, were the light of his life. He nurtured his family with unwavering love, instilling in them values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family ties. His gentle spirit and wisdom shaped their lives, creating lasting memories that they will forever hold dear.
In addition to his immediate family, Petros will be deeply missed by his siblings—three sisters and one brother—who shared laughter, stories, and support through the years. The bond they forged was a testament to the family's legacy of love that will continue to flourish in the hearts of those left behind.
Petros was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kalliope, who passed away in 2014. Their love story was one of profound connection and partnership, a testament to enduring affection that has left an indelible imprint on their children's lives.
A visitation will be held at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY, where family and friends will come together to honor Petros's memory. Visitation hours are scheduled for May 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and later that evening from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A second day of visitation will take place on May 14, from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM. A mass honoring Petros will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on May 14 at 10:00 AM, followed by a burial service at North Babylon Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Petros Patsalos, we remember his gentle kindness, robust spirit, and the love he shared so generously with all those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and unwavering support, and his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
