Philip S. Pennisi, a beloved teacher and dedicated family man, passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on December 11, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York to his parents Philip and Josephine. Philip was affectionately known for his kind spirit and caring nature. His commitment to education was evident during his long tenure as a teacher for Patchogue-Medford High School, where he inspired countless students with his passion for knowledge. Philip proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1968, a testament to his character and dedication to his country.
An ardent fan of the New York Yankees, Philip's enthusiasm for the team was unmatched, as he could often be found cheering them on with fervor. His warmth, humor, and genuine love for life left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Philip is survived by his loving wife, Annmarie Pennisi; his daughter, Melanie, and her husband, Darren Schneider; and his two cherished grandchildren, Reese and Samara. Each of them will remember him not only for his unwavering support but also for the profound impact he had on their lives.
Visitation for Philip will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Mangano Family Funeral Home, Inc. in Deer Park, NY, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A Mass in his honor will take place the following day, Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Saint Matthew in Dix Hills, NY, beginning at 10:45 AM.
Philip S. Pennisi will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, passion, and devotion that will continue to inspire those he touched throughout his life.
