Robert J. Chester

Robert J. Chester, a respected and loved member of the community and a dedicated professional, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on May 24, 1933, Robert lived a full life, marked by commitment to his family, career, and service to his country.

As a veteran of the United States Army, Robert served honorably from 1953 to 1955, instilling values of discipline and respect that would guide him throughout his life. Following his military service, Robert embarked on a successful career in insurance sales, dedicating many years to Coverage Concepts in New York. His work was characterized by a genuine care for his clients, and he built many lasting relationships throughout his professional journey.

Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Wanda Chester, and his parents, Frank and Sophie. He is survived by his cherished family, including his daughters Diane Arpaia and her husband Carmine, Christine Dawson and her husband Glenn, and son, Robert Chester. Robert took immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Carmine, Mark, Sophie, Michael, Alice, and Sarah, and as a great-grandfather to Abigail, Eden, and Leah. His legacy of love and kindness will undoubtedly live on through them.

The visitation for Robert will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home, located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY 11901. A prayer service will follow on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM, concluding at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Robert J. Chester will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his profession, his warm spirit, and the love he shared with those around him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
