We regrettably announce the passing of Rose Rotella, age 96, who was formerly from Deer Park, Long Island and Pompano Beach, Florida. Rose, one of nine children was born to Frank and Theresa Faiella on February 13, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York. She is predeceased by her loving husband Mike, married 68 years, and has left us on March 10, 2023 to join him in Heaven.
She passed peacefully in her sleep while resting comfortably at Light Hill Comfort Care Home in Canandaigua, New York. Rose, a loving mother and grandmother is survived by 3 children, Michael (wife Jeanette), Frank (wife Liz), and Geraldine (husband Pete), 6 grandchildren Nicole (husband Mike), Mark (wife Renae), Leah (husband John), Michael (wife Amanda), Nick and Chris, and 7 great grandchildren. All of whom will keep a special place for her in our hearts. She was known for her fantastic cooking but even more so for her holiday cookies that she baked dozens upon dozens of for family and friends. Many whom still have and use her recipes. She started late in life using an iPad that was given to her, but loved to be able to keep up with pictures of her family that were emailed to her as well as being able to FaceTime with them. As many times as all of us would tell her that we loved her, she would always reply with, “Not more than I love you”. We will all miss her deeply, but will have some peace in knowing that she took a small piece of all our hearts with her as she joins the first love of her life in peace for eternity.
If you would like to make a donation in Rose’s memory, instead of flowers, the family would appreciate it. Please donate to “Light Hill” whose volunteers there were passionate in keeping Rosie comfortable and peaceful throughout her last weeks. Their website is Lighthillhome.org
