Santa M. Cocchiere, a beloved seamstress and a cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on June 3, 1930, in New York, NY, Santa led a life that was marked by kindness, care, and a dedication to her family.
Throughout her career, Santa embraced her passion for sewing, becoming a talented seamstress known for her meticulous craftsmanship and creative flair. Her warm personality and nurturing spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of working with her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and artistry.
Santa was a proud mother to her three children: Carol and her husband Anthony Cocchiere, Tom and his wife Christine Cocchiere, Angela Messana, and her loving daughter-in-law Gabriela Cocchiere. She also grieved the loss of her son, Peter Cocchiere as well as her daughter Lisa Ann, who predeceased her. As a grandmother, Santa found immense joy in her eight grandchildren and was a delighted great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 2 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7 PM to 9:30 PM at Mangano Funeral Home, 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. A mass will be held the following day on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, pending time.
The world has lost a truly remarkable woman, but Santa's influential spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, cherished forever in their memories. She will be remembered not only for her incredible talents and achievements but also for the love and warmth she so easily shared with everyone around her.
