Stephen R. Brennan

Stephen R. Brennan, born June 29, 1942 in Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on July 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Stephen’s life was marked by service, quiet strength, and devotion to those he held dear. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, Stephen’s early years were shaped by his upbringing and education, completing some college before embarking on his distinguished career. After serving in the marines, he dedicated much of his life to public service as an officer with the New York City Police—Transit Division and Good Samaritan Hospital.

Stephen’s family was his greatest pride. He is survived by his beloved wife Kerry Brennan, and together they built a home filled with warmth and care. He leaves behind his daughter, Therese Brennan, and his sons, Stephen Brennan and Dennis Brennan, and his six grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy. 

Family, friends, and all who wish to pay their respects are invited to visitation at Mangano Family Funeral Home, 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729, on Thursday, July 23 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the same location on Friday, July 24, at 10:15 AM, followed by a Mass at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, 125 Half Hollow Road, Deer Park, NY 11729, at 11:15 AM. Stephen will be laid to rest at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY 11933-1031, following the funeral mass.

The memory of Stephen R. Brennan will endure in the hearts of all who loved him, inspired by the example he set through a lifetime of service, generosity, and steadfast devotion.
