Theresa Schaefer

Theresa Schaefer, a beloved matriarch, passed away on February 4, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on November 17, 1930, Theresa lived a life marked by her unwavering love for her family and her deep faith. She was a pillar of strength and resilience, facing life’s challenges with dignity and grace.

Terry will be remembered as someone who carried her crosses with courage, always putting her loved ones first. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and a sense of belonging, where she cherished hosting family gatherings and parties that brought joy to everyone who was fortunate enough to attend. Her role as a stay-at-home mom was one she embraced wholeheartedly, nurturing and supporting her children in every possible way.

Her faith was at the center of her life, with her Sundays spent in worship at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, a place she considered her second home. She was deeply devoted and prayed for everyone, embodying a spirit of generosity and compassion that defined her character.

Terry’s heart held a very special place for her late husband, Bill, whom she loved with all her heart and soul, and missed every day since his passing in 2008. This enduring love exemplified her capacity for devotion and the powerful bonds of family.

She leaves behind her loving family, which includes her daughters, Dianne Stroup and Debbie Calascione and her son, William Jr., her son-in-law, Frank, her daughter-in-law, Denise, five grandchildren, Amanda (Erich), Ricky, Michael (Noelle), Christoper (Katie), and  Brooke, and five great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Ricky, Emma, Olivia, and Anna. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love and kindness.

Visitation services will be held on February 8, 2026, at Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and later from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on February 9, 2026, at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, starting at 10:15 AM.

Terry will be dearly missed, yet her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her family and friends for years to come.
