Zina Amato-Gioia was born in Brooklyn, New York. She married Jerry Gioia in June 1956 and the Family moved to Long Island in 1971 and later Zina & Jerry retired to Florida in 2005.
Zina & Jerry had two daughters, Diane Gioia-Bailey and Maria Gioia-Antonetti. Their two Sons-in-law Michael Bailey and Tony Antonetti. They have a total of three grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael and Casey, Angela and Stephanie and two Great Grandchildren, Tatum and Brooks.
Zina was the family caterer and hostess for holidays, random get togethers, and danced her way through life. There's nothing she loved more than having the house full of family and friends, and being at celebrations. Zina loved music, particularly Gloria Estefan, and anything that made her hips shake. You could often find her dancing in the kitchen, while cooking and on the dance floor at every event.
She spent most of her years working as a receptionist for attorneys, and property management companies. Her success in her career follows through into her personal life where she loved to talk on the phone for hours, and accommodate everyone whether it was business or family.
Her kitchen was more than a place to eat, it was a gathering space, a dance floor, a haven for laughter, stories, and memories.
