Wayne E. Boyd, born on April 11, 1947, in Riverhead, New York, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, in Ridge, New York. He was a cherished husband, brother, and devoted individual who touched the lives of many throughout his 78 years.
Wayne’s life was marked by his dedicated service to his country. He proudly served in the Army from 1966 to 1969, exemplifying commitment and honor during a pivotal time. His military service was a foundation of strength and discipline that shaped the man he became.
Beyond his service, Wayne was a man of deep affection for animals, particularly his beloved dogs and cats. His love extended to horses as well, an interest he nurtured by raising and caring for these magnificent creatures with great tenderness. His passion for animals was a testament to his gentle and compassionate nature.
He is survived by his loving wife Lynne, who was his steadfast companion; his sister Gail; and his brother Craig, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Wayne was predeceased by his brother Ronnie, whose memory he carried with him always.
Friends and family will gather to honor and remember Wayne’s life during visitation services held on April 2, 2026, at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY 11901. The visitation will be held in two sessions, first from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The following day, on April 3, 2026, Wayne will be laid to rest with interment services at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, New York 11933. The interment service will commence at 10:30 AM and conclude by 11:30 AM.
Wayne E. Boyd’s legacy is one of unwavering loyalty, heartfelt kindness, and a profound connection to those he loved and the animals he cared for. He will be remembered with the greatest respect and affection by all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing and may he rest in peace.
