William John Willis, Jr., known to his loved ones as "Billy," a beloved son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. Born on October 7, 1966, in Queens, NY, Billy was the cherished son of Carol and the late William John Willis, Sr., who predeceased him in 2002.
Billy was an individual who embraced life with open arms and a generous heart. His mother, Carol, will remember him not only as her son but as a source of comfort and strength. Alongside her, his siblings—brother Chris and sister Denise—shared a bond with Billy that was unbreakable, filled with shared memories and laughter that will echo through the years to come.
As an uncle, he found immense joy in his relationships with his nieces, Brittany and Emma, and his nephews- Christopher, Ryan, and Brian, and a bonus nephew Brian C. He took pleasure in being a guiding presence in their lives, imparting wisdom and humor in equal measure. His playful spirit and unwavering support made every family gathering a time of joy and unity.
Billy was a diehard Pittsburg steeler fan, a Duke basketball fan, and a Mets fan. When he wasn't involved in sports, his love for animals either homed or stray was evident in all that he did.
Billy's life was one of openness and kindness. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people and spread happiness wherever he went. The impact he made on his friends and family is immeasurable; he listened when others spoke, laughed genuinely at jokes, and offered help whenever it was needed.
A series of visitations will be held to honor Billy's memory at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on June 6th from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and June 7th from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM. A Mass to celebrate William's life will follow at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church at 11:15 AM on the same day.
As we reflect on his life, we hold close the good times, the laughs, and the lessons learned. Billy will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories we cherish and the stories we share, reminding us all to live fully and love fiercely, just as he did.
